When moving your belongings, no matter what common carrier you use, you are likely covered through a very limited liability policy and will only be reimbursed 10 cents/lb and only under certain conditions. This means, for example, if you have a valuable item that is worth $5,000.00 and weighs 200 lbs you will only receive $20.00 when damaged from a wreck or stolen during the transit.

Don't be left empty handed with a damaged shipment or a stolen heirloom; pack wisely to protect your items for a safe transit and make sure you have some decent insurance. As they say, "A little prevention goes a long way".

It is also a good idea to check with your homeowners' insurance policy and talk to a company representative or agent to make sure your move is covered for any damage or losses. Make sure you obtain documentation in writing from your insurance company.

If your homeowners' insurance doesn't have you covered, you may purchase additional insurance through P.A.F Insurance Services. Just go to P.A.F Insurance Services' website and you can get info, a quote, or book insurance right away.
